Letter from the President
The July 4th holiday is a time of celebration, thanksgiving and reflection upon the freedom and independence we have achieved as a country. In that spirit, I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the loyal relationships we have grown with all of you. I would like to thank all of you for your candid feedback and suggestions provided to us throughout this year. As you hopefully have encountered, we have implemented several of your suggestions and incorporated many into our 2006 business plans.
Several of your comments touched upon Customer Service and Communication. We have implemented many initiatives that speak to your comments of increasing and improving communication. We have monthly newsletters, periodic email blasts, increased production schedules and formal roundtable meetings. We do hope that you continue to find these informative and insightful. As you have seen, we now have a link on all email correspondence that welcomes your immediate feedback, suggestions or questions. Please continue to fill that mailbox with your comments.
As we continue through 2006, you will be hearing more from our team as respects Customer Service and Product Communication. In our world of relentless competition, we need to make sure we are providing the best service possible to you in order to earn your first call and last look.
As always, we thank you for your loyalty.
Have a happy and healthy July 4th!

Associates at Investors are “Living the Style”
Many companies have a mission statement, some have a vision or creed. We live the “Markel Style”. The Markel Style has served to provide a constant direction and inspiration to our Associates at Investors. We focus on achieving success at all levels of our business and believe that our Human Capital is our most valuable asset. That is why we take great pride in training and developing our Associates in order to enhance their skills and provide them with career development opportunities. We truly encourage our Associates to “Live the Style” and believe an important role of Human Resources is to provide them with the tools and resources to do so. We achieve this goal not only through professional development but by recruiting and retaining the best talent. Investors have always endeavored to identify the right talent for each opportunity. Our recruitment and selection is a strategic process that enables us to unite individuals with our organization and create the synergy that is so important in embracing the Markel Style.
Another quality our Associates possess is their generous nature. A large part of our efforts at Investors goes towards giving back to the community. Our Associates have raised money for many local charities, including the Monmouth County SPCA, The March of Dimes, and the USO. Their generosity is not only in monetary donations, they have also given their time by volunteering to feed the homeless, give blood, and clean the local beaches. It is this spirit of teamwork and commitment that exemplify the Markel Style and make it more than just words on paper. Associates at Investors are excited about the future and look forward to continued organizational success.

Investors Competes in Corporate Challenge
On June 22, Investors sent 26 associates to participate in the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Manhattan’s Central Park. The race covers 3.5 miles of rolling hills through the park. Associates joined over 15,000 employees from the greater New York area.
Despite the hot and humid conditions, this annual event proved to be a great time for all involved. This year’s turnout proved to be the largest in the history of IUM’s participation.
“We’re all excited to promote corporate fitness and well being,” said President Glen Curley. “To have such a great turnout for this event is a testament to our commitment to this important aspect of a balanced lifestyle.”
The following individuals competed for IUM: Jaqueline Armour, Jane Baumann, Jim Brogan, Kristine Cobb, Mei Lee Cruci, Ruben Delgado, Bryan Festa, Matt Hannay, Melissa Hoffman-Schartel, Dawn Jacobs, Rick Julian, Eileen Long, Caroline McLaughlin, Chris Meyer, Karen Olmstead, Heather Payne, Ray Steer, Paul Taubman, Milissa Theobald, Ester Trinidad, Doug Trolian, and Marie Wilkinson.
In addition, we had four volunteers cheering for everyone as they crossed the finish line: Lori Bonser, Colleen Flores, Dana Kolmer, and Michelle McCann.
Congratulations to all involved!
